Certified holiday homes at Green Stay Croatia
A holiday home means having the whole place to yourself and your group, with no neighbours on the other side of the wall. On this page you'll find holiday homes across Croatia that hold an independent eco or sustainability certificate, from stone houses inland to homes close to the sea. It gives you the freedom to plan your days as you like, with plenty of room for time together and time to unwind.
Who are holiday homes for
A holiday home is ideal when several people are travelling together. Breakfast is shared, in the afternoon everyone has their own corner, and in the evening you all gather again around a big table. Some homes also have their own garden or terrace. Holiday homes are particularly well suited to families with children, groups of friends and multi-generational trips. How many guests the house sleeps and how it's equipped are set out in the listing for each property.
What the certificate means for a holiday home
The certificate has been issued by an independent body after assessing the house against its own criteria. That body also checks that the house continues to meet those criteria after the certificate has been awarded. Criteria vary from scheme to scheme: some focus on energy and water, others on waste, products or the local community. The name of the certificate is always shown on the listing card and in the listing for each property.
Holiday homes without an independent certificate
Holiday homes that don't yet hold an independent certificate also have the chance to be presented to guests. When selecting them, we look at everything from the accuracy of the description to the hospitality of the host. This gives you a wider choice, and it's always clearly shown which properties hold a certificate and which don't.
Day trips and local highlights near your holiday home
- Local flavours: hosts often know where to buy home-made cheese, wine or olive oil straight from the producer.
- Nature nearby: trails, forest paths and viewpoints, recommended by the people who know the area best.
- Local events: fairs, festivals and customs you often only hear about by chatting with your host.
- Time to slow down: plenty of space to relax in whatever way suits you.
